Impact Investment
Over the past few years, Woord en Daad has started to invest more in small and medium-sized enterprises in the South. However, it became increasingly difficult for us to adhere to the “codes of conduct” for NGOs, as venture investment is not an NGO task.
Woord en Daad therefore decided to establish a new independent and private investment entity. Although other NGOs have also made this type of move, it is still a relatively new approach. This commercial private investment firm is called Incluvest BV and was officially launched on 25 September 2012.
The investment funds of Woord en Daad is now administered by Incluvest. The prime concern of Incluvest is impact investment. Incluvest therefore provides loans and equity to agribusiness and financial service providers with the aim of supplying the entire value chain with tailored loans and technical support.
Woord en Daad has a contract with Incluvest for the implementation and monitoring of the agribusiness enterprise development programme.
Since 25 September 2012, Woord en Daad and Incluvest have been independent organizations. However, the Executive Board and the Supervisory Board of Woord en Daad and Incluvest work in unison.
