The INCE Benin team has been working on an assignment. This assignment is part of designing a strategy for INCE Benin, which will be based on the INCE strategy of Woord en Daad. We aim to structurally improve the quality of education through a value-based systemic change approach.
The consortium shares: ‘Since a few years we are orienting to start an INCE consortium and project in Benin with Dedras, a long-term partner of Woord en Daad. In this respect, a proposal has been submitted to Education Out Loud (EOL) in cooperation with Social Watch Benin. The objective of the EOL project is to strengthen the role of national civil society in promoting transparency and accountability of education system policies. The implementation of these policies will increase the provision of equitable, inclusive and emergency-resilient quality education.’
If this EOL project will be approved, this will be an important component related to the INCE result areas on government policy and collaborative engagement. ‘In order to further work on our ambition of value-based systemic change in the education sector in Benin, we should rethink the design of the project, the overall ambitions and the stakeholders we engage with. Therefore, a description of the structure, main stakeholders and key challenges and opportunities of the education sector in Benin is needed, including an inventory of potentially relevant partners to reach our INCE mission.
Objectives and expected results of the assignment
Summarized, the assignment that INCE Benin is working on, has two main goals:
- Analyse the Benin education sector, highlighting its challenges, its (potentially) influential players and their roles as well as the opportunities for access for all to quality education.
- Map the potential actors of the system that can effectively support successful value-based systemic change strategies (alongside to the EOL project, if approved)
We hope to keep you updated on the outcomes of the assignment!
