Teaching Life Skills and Sex Education from a Developmental Perspective.
During eight sessions, INCE PSD trains 40 center heads of AMG Philippines with the help of two Driestar Christian University (DCU) consultants. AMG is a Gospel-first global ministry that meets the deepest needs — spiritual and physical — by inspiring hope, restoring lives and transforming communities. The theme of the training is: Teaching Life Skills and Sex Education from Developmental Perspective.
Making expertise fruitful
After the training, the center heads will give the training for their own staff in the centers. To ensure the participants take in all the information, we give them pre- and post-assignments, short videos before and after the sessions, among other things. In addition, a local expert has brought in the real life of teenagers on the streets of Manilla in need of steadfast role models in their lives!
Funding
The training is funded by Nuffic (through the Orange Knowledge Program), a Dutch organisation for internationalisation in education. Several other countries like Benin and Burkina Faso can be found on the country list with the specific country focus theme of Sexual and Reproductive Health and Rights. INCE PSD awaits new announcements by Nuffic for these countries but is open to alternative ways of financing projects that will have great impact on children.

Experiences of participants
By good preparation by participants and trainers, a lot can be achieved in the online meetings. We share our faith even more as centre heads take turns organizing the devotions.
Elly van der Gouwe (consultant at Driestar Christian University)
Great and informative to cooperate with a local expert who is well informed about the situation in the Philippines. This is especially the case for the themes sexual abuse and online sexual exploitation that have increased during the lockdown. We have confidence that this person is available as a helpline after the training to equip the centre heads on these areas.
