Over the past years, we at Woord en Daad have been on an exciting journey, together with our partners: learning how to apply systemic thinking in practice to create deeper, longer‑lasting impact. Today, we’re proud to share our lessons learned during this journey.

This paper brings together key insights and lessons from six case studies across Africa and Asia, showing how systemic thinking can strengthen long‑term impact. It introduces practical tools – including the Systemic Change Canvas, Causal Loop Diagramming, Outcome Mapping, and the System Dimension Matrix – to help organisations analyse systems, identify leverage points, and monitor systemic progress.
